October 11th, 2000: The first of three preliminaries for the Orchestra Category of the First World Steelband Music Festival was called off tonight due to inclement weather in Port of Spain. NCB Angel Harps, the Caribbean's lone non-Trinidadian entrant will now play in 4th position on October 12th in the first of what is now going to be two preliminaries to select the semi-finalists. Eight bands will appear on October 12th in the first preliminary, while the other nine bands will appear on October 13th.

Of the bands participating in the orchestra category of the first World Steelband Music Festival, ten (10) are from Trinidad & Tobago, two (2) are from the USA and one each from Grenada, Switzerland, Finland, France and the United Kingdom. NCBANGELHARPS.COM understands that coverage of the preliminaries will be brought live by Trinidad Radio Station FM 102.

On Sunday October 15th, the band will appear at a Pan Market and Blocko on Brian Lara Promenade in downtown Port of Spain. The band is accommodated at the Cove Hotel in Chagaramas and can be contacted via telephone 868-634-4319.
