Congratulations to NCB Angel Harps. You have represented us well.
To the band, you may have been defeated this time, but you certainly were not disgraced. In fact, I hear that you had the audiences dancing in the aisles.
The experience gained, will better serve us in the future. We have NOTHING TO FEAR from them Trinis. Let's go at them next time.

NO FEAR

As one Trini commentator stated, "Angel Harps in spite of not being in the finals, is one of the bands that would certainly be at the top of this competition the next time around - Pan Around the World - A splendid and creative piece arranged by Grenada's ace musician James Clarkson, justified by the young and talented Harpers, took us on a musical journey that had the feet of the passengers tapping and their heads nodding in approval".
AH you have made Grenada proud and brought our sweetness to the balcony of the international community...Thank you.
Better Luck next time.

I would like to congratulate the Harpers also. But I would like to make another point. We the young pan players have no animosity amongst each other. Many of us are friends in school and in our communities. I am a Cheroes player but have played for GBSS and that's using both the steel pans of Dimensions and Angel Harps. In fact the only difference that most of us share is the name of the band we play with.

The point I'm making is that it is usually the older folks who make up the management and ironically the minority of the bands, that have a problem with working together. Always making a big deal about who plays where... Grenada would have been better represented by a cross section of the various bands. Angel Harps was good. But I am sorry. Because of its size the balance is not as good as it could be. Next time around allow a coagualtion of creativity and you'll see how the rest of the world can stand against us then.

Just wanted to congratulate the band for a job well done. It's unfortunate that we couldn't get to the finals, but you all represented Grenada well.

We're all proud. I heard you all had the crowd on their feet, though.

Congrats again!!

The exposure at the World Steelband Festival is sure to motivate the players to improve their panmanship and to increase their interest in the artform. It has also given Grenada a presence among the world steelband fraternity, and additionally, confirmed what we have all known for a long time -- James Clarkson is one of the best arrangers in pan today. Congratulations all you panmen and panwomen.
