Republic
Bank Angel Harps issues warning
St. George's, Sunday 9th July, 2006 --- Republic Bank Angel Harps
issued a strong warning at the 2006 Panorama Launch at the Tanteen
Sports Complex with a scintilating rendition of their 2006 panorama
selection "Symphony on Steel" and drove the point home by
winning the "Rhythm Section Competition" - the main feature of
this year's Panorama Launch.
Playing only the verse and chorus of a selection composed and
arranged by veteran James Clarkson, the Harps set the tone for what pan
enthusiasts can expect come Panorama Night 2006.
Playing last among the nine bands participating in the Launch, the
Harps capped off a memorable evening of sweet pan music that saw each
band perform three pieces including their 2006 panorama selection.
Also playing their panorama selections for this year's Junior
Panorama competition were the Republic Bank Angel Harps Juniors and ADG
Signs Wiz Kids from River Road.
All the bands gave a good account of themselves especially newcomers
Grand Roy Pan Angels who showed a vast improvement in their performance
compared to a few months ago when they were officially launched. Being
the new kids on the block certainly did not hamper the Pan Angels from
putting down a fantastic performance. Expect to hear a lot more from
this band in the future.
The participating bands in the Panorama Launch were: ADG Signs Wiz
Kids, Corinthians. Grand Roy Pan Lovers, C&W Commancheros, Courts
New Dimension, Digicel Pan Lovers, Florida All Stars, Grenlec Rainbow
City All Stars and Republic Bank Angel Harps who also featured their
Junior Orchestra.
In the feature event of the evening "Rhythm Section
Competition" Angel Harps registered their first win at this
competition:
The Results:
1) Republic Bank Angel Harps
2) Florida All Stars
3) Grand Roy Pan Angels
4) Corinthians
5) Digicel Pan Lovers
